The new museum, the “Basil and Elise Goulandris Foundation”, named after the founders, is housed in a privately owned property that resulted from the coupling and harmonious conciliation of a listed interwar building and a modern addition. The choice of the spot was based on the desire of the Goulandris couple for the museum to be located in a central part of the capital, in a place easily accessible to visitors, within the cultural axis that surrounds the major museums of the city. On the mezzanine floor there is a café-restaurant during museum opening hours, where visitors can enjoy coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch. The menu bears the signature of our executive chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos. Mixologist Aris Chatziantoniou has compiled a drinks list that includes two particularly low adv cocktails, ideal for the afternoon hours.
